Melodicism
Melodicism is a video guitar lesson presented by Angus Clark and is sourced from Focus On: British Metal

Not as easy to explain as I'd like to think. The simplification of this segment is to simply tell you that it's ok to slow down, and its ok to work out some or all of your solo. The playing examples are all examples of building on a short motif in order to create melodicism in your solo. That's the important lesson here.
Between the Chords
Between the Chords is a video guitar lesson presented by Angus Clark and is sourced from Focus On: British Metal

The rhythm guitar arrangements for a vast number of songs involve the combination of chords with riffs that connect them. By seeing the material in this way you can get a grasp of what the chord progression is separate from all the riffage. This will allow you to simplify the material in your head. It's also a great way to understand how the material is written. Iron Maiden and Dragonforce are both bands that use this technique.

While Iommi's style isn't the most technically demanding, the diversity of the arrangement here combines numerous concepts all in one place, so take note of what's going on.

Section one is all about finding the right voicing and making sure it rings true so that you are creating the right space.

Section two is more challenging section, just a bit brighter than double time. Keep it clean but more importantly make sure it swings! The combination of muted picking, open picking, hammers and pulls are all essential to getting the feel right on this.

Section three is a chord figure still in triplet time. Here again, muting and accuracy with the pick are essential to keeping the part swinging.

The solo is straight up blues licks - don't skip this stuff - its all in the feel!!!
The Way She Moves
The Way She Moves is a video guitar lesson presented by Adam Levy and is sourced from Essentials: Slow Burn Soloing

The Beatles' "Something" was the inspiration for "In the Way She Moves." (Check out George Harrison's gorgeous solo on that, if you've never heard it before.)

This solo is a little more adventurous than "On a Bus," though we'll focus on chord tones again (3rds, mostly). We'll also craft bits of melody from triad shapes. Notice that while the notes in this solo stay within a fairly limited register, the rhythms are less predictable, bobbing and weaving around the band's laid-back 4/4 groove.
