A Ionian
In the first Power Concepts video lesson, you'll learn how to apply the major pentatonic scale over an A Ionian chord progression. The major pentatonic scale contains this interval formula 1 - 2 - 3 - 5 - 6, which means you have all of the Sweet Notes contained in an A major triad plus the 6 and 9 (2)...which means you'll have lots of Sweet Note resolutions to target as well, which makes creating melodic lines so much easier, right? Once you watched the video and have the concept in your head, apply your new approach over the A Ionian chord jam track. You may want to look at the progression as well to understand that the chords are derived from the A major scale, however the progression resolves squarely back to the I chord (A major).
B Dorian
In this Power Concepts lesson, you'll be applying the B minor pentatonic scale over a B Dorian chord progression. A B Dorian progression is created by using chords derived from the A major scale, however the progression will resolve to the II minor chord, B minor.
The B minor pentatonic scale is also derived from the A major scale and contains all of the Sweet Notes found in the B minor 7th chord, which is going to make applying this Power Concept so melodic and fail safe that you are going to love how easy it is to sound amazing, which is exactly why I've put this course together!
B minor pentatonic contains I -b3 - 4 - 5 - b7, so the only note that won't be a strong resolution or Sweet Note is the E note (4). Use this note throughout your solo if you want to, but don't land on it as a resolution over this progression.
The B minor pentatonic scale is also derived from the A major scale and contains all of the Sweet Notes found in the B minor 7th chord, which is going to make applying this Power Concept so melodic and fail safe that you are going to love how easy it is to sound amazing, which is exactly why I've put this course together!

The C# minor pentatonic scale is also derived from the A major scale and contains all of the Sweet Notes found in the C# minor 7th chord, which is going to make applying this Phryigian Power Concept so melodic and tasty.
C# minor pentatonic contains I -b3 - 4 - 5 - b7. So, the only note that won't be a strong resolution or Sweet Note is the F# note (4). You can still use this note throughout your solo if you want to, but don't land on it as a resolution point over this C# Phrygian progression.

You'll also have the 2 and 6 as color tones to use in your lines and licks, so if any Lydian progression you play over contains the 2 and 6 in the resolution tonal center chord, those will also be Sweet Notes too.

The E major pentatonic scale is also derived from the A major scale and contains all of the Sweet Notes found in the E major chord, which is going to make applying this Mixolydian Power Concept so sweet and easy. You'll also have the 2 and 6 as color tones to use in your lines and licks, so any Mixolydian progression you play over containing the 2 and 6 in the resolution tonal center chord. An E6 Or E6/9 or E9 chord for example will be Sweet Notes too.

All of the scale tones are Sweet Notes, except the 4th (B), so you'll have every chord tone at your disposal when improvising over an Aeolian progression. Great catchy lines and melodies along with teaching scale patterns.
i basically like the melodies that Robbie brought into this video. This is the main reason why I purchased this instructional video. Therefore, the hooks are good enough alone to learn from. Robbie does teach about the pentatonics in a useful way in this instruction also.

Robbie Calvo has a very calming and easy going method of teaching. Because of this, it enables you to be able to catch everything that he is trying to get across to us. This is course is also very enlightening and if you stay with it, you'll expand your soloing skills and add some different notes that you haven't applied in your solos or phrases. Get this course and you'll understand what I'm talking about !!
