Jazz Guitar Fakebook: Soloing Vol. 6

Hi, I'm Frank Vignola and welcome to this sixth Soloing Edition of the Jazz Guitar Fakebook.

The best way to learn how to play jazz is to learn how to play songs, and learning songs starts with learning the accompaniment, which we focused on in the Jazz Fakebook - Rhythm Edition where you learned the chords, rhythms, and comping approaches for jazz progressions in 30 of the most popular jazz standards.

In this edition of the Jazz Guitar Fake Book, you'll learn how to solo over the final ten jazz standards featured in the volume 2 of the Rhythm edition: Recordame, September Song, Softly As In The Morning Sunrise, Sweet Georgia Brown, S'Wonderful, Talk Of The Town, The Man I Love, Undecided, What's New, and Young At Heart.

For each of these 10 jazz standards, I'll demonstrate and breakdown a simple melodic-based approach, a slightly more embellished approach, and then finally an advanced approach just like I would play myself on the bandstand.

All of the performances are transcribed and you’ll be able to sync the tab and notation to the video using TrueFire’s learning tools. All of the live-band backing tracks are included, and you can also loop or slow down the videos so that you can work with the lessons at your own pace.
