Jazz Guitar Fakebook: Soloing Vol. 4

About this course

In volumes 1 , 2 and 3 of the Soloing editions of Frank Vignola’s Jazz Guitar Fakebook you learned how to solo over the first 30 jazz standard progressions featured in the 1st Rhythm Edition of Frank Vignola’s Jazz Fakebook where you learned the chords, rhythms, and comping approaches for the jazz progressions in 30 of the most popular jazz standards.

In this 4th volume, you'll learn how to solo over the 1st set of 10 jazz standard progressions featured in Volume 2 of Frank’s Rhythm Fakebook — the same jazz chord progressions found in: All Blues, Autumn Leaves, Bb Blues, Beautiful Love, Body & Soul, Bye Bye Blues, Carioca, C Jam Blues, Corcovado, and Exactly Like You.

”For each of these classic 10 jazz standard progressions, I’ll demonstrate and breakdown a simple melodic-based approach focused on chord tones and expression, an embellished approach adding chromatics and extensions, and then finally an advanced approach just like I would play myself on the bandstand.”

Frank will explain and demonstrate all of the key concepts and approaches along the way. You’ll get standard notation and tabs for all of the performance studies. Plus, you’ll be able to use TrueFire’s learning tools to sync the tab and notation to the video lesson. You can also loop or slow down the videos so that you can work with the lessons at your own pace. All of the backing tracks are included to work with on your own as well.

Jazz Guitar Fakebook: Soloing Vol. 4
Hi, I'm Frank Vignola and welcome to this fourth Soloing Edition of the Jazz Guitar Fakebook.

The best way to learn how to play jazz is to learn how to play songs, and learning songs starts with learning the accompaniment, which we focused on in the Jazz Fakebook - Rhythm Edition where you learned the chords, rhythms, and comping approaches for jazz progressions in 30 of the most popular jazz standards.

In this edition of the Jazz Guitar Fake Book, you'll learn how to solo over the first ten jazz standards featured in the volume 2 of the Rhythm edition: All Blues, Autumn Leaves, Bb Blues, Beautiful Love, Body & Soul, Bye Bye Blues, Carioca, C Jam Blues, Corcovado, and Exactly Like You...

For each of these 10 jazz standards, I'll demonstrate and breakdown a simple melodic-based approach, a slightly more embellished approach, and then finally an advanced approach just like I would play myself on the bandstand.

All of the performances are transcribed and you’ll be able to sync the tab and notation to the video using TrueFire’s learning tools. All of the live-band backing tracks are included, and you can also loop or slow down the videos so that you can work with the lessons at your own pace.

Vignola always delivers.

Frank Vignola always delivers material that is explained in a comprehensible matter. It is usually technically simple but is great material for students who want to get into jazz and understand the theory behind it.

Jazz Candy

Frank Vignola starts at square one and develops his examples over three choruses one step at a time. Mostly you could hum along and certainly will get inspired to develop your own solos by listening and playing along.

Frank just can't disappoint!!

It's simply not in Mr. Vignola's DNA........every lesson he breaks down I come away with something special ....a technique or expression or lick.....I keep or try to keep and retain at the ready when jamming.......I love his Jazz/Blues selections best like Blues for All, Bebop Blues and Duke's jam in C but its all excellent! Highly recommend all Frank's TrueFire courses and this one's no exception!! Six stars!! Jim C.
