Albert Collins
Albert Collins - Concept & Approach is a video guitar lesson presented by Matt Schofield and is sourced from Blues Speak: Playing the Changes.

One of my earliest and biggest inspirations, from Texas: The Iceman – Albert Collins! Albert's unique, inventive and exciting playing contains so much to be inspired by. In this lesson, we're going to focus on how his use of a unique tuning brought out the sound of the blues scale with the added 6th degree. This can lead us to a fresh sound in our own playing, and melodically tie the first two changes in the blues scale together very nicely, and start to bring out the sound of the IV chord.

Albert Collins - Performance: Demo is a video guitar lesson presented by Matt Schofield and is sourced from Blues Speak: Playing the Changes.

Let's take a funky blues groove in the key of D and have go playing with the minor pentatonic with the 6th degree instead of the dominant 7th. We'll keep it simple to help our ears learn the sound of the scale, and where that 6th really really fits. We should always be following our ears and not just our fingers!

Now we're going to trade back and forth using this sound of the pentatonic with the 6th. I'll play a "Collins-ish" line and try and play it back to me. We're keeping it simple and focusing on phrasing, timing, and subtle variations to develop a theme. And making sure we land that 6th in the right spot!
Soloing With Modes
Soloing With Modes - Demonstration is a video guitar lesson presented by Jeff Scheetz and is sourced from Street Theory for Guitarists. Here we look at using the modal scales over modal progressions. Looking back at the chord lesson where we dug into modal progressions will help you get a better feel for how this works. Take your time and make sure you "listen" - don't just play through the scales, but take the time to really dial in your ear. That's where the magic is!
G7 Improv: Minor Form
G7 Improv: Minor Form - Demonstration is a video guitar lesson presented by Pat Martino and is sourced from The Nature of Guitar.

Now we're down to something very personal, with respect to what we as players prefer to use in our improvisation. I've always been prone to appreciate the minor form more than any other.

In this lesson, I'll explore some various approaches to improvising out of this sound.
Up Beat Blues

Up Beat Blues - Overview is a video guitar lesson presented by Tim Lerch and is sourced from Jazz Blues Pathways.

Starting things off with a pretty straight forward upbeat shuffle in C. I keep it pretty simple on the first chorus then have a bit more fun especially on the ii V turnaround in the 2nd and 3rd chourses. Try to lay back a bit on your 8th notes and especially any triplets so your time feel isn't too bouncy.

Up Beat Blues - Soloing Performance is a video guitar lesson presented by Tim Lerch and is sourced from Jazz Blues Pathways.

My approach to soloing always includes lots of reference to chord tones. Learn your arpeggios for the changes and it will be a big help. You don't have to learn every 2+ octave arpeggio fingering right at first. Just learn a few that are in the area that you are going to use the most. Notice how an arp doesn't sound very bluesy, it helps to decorate the arps with slurs between flat 3 and 3 and flat 5 and 5.

The Iceman

This is a great course on one of my favorite players Albert Collins. Matt does a wonderful job of capturing the feel that went into Albert’s playing. This has quickly become one of my favorite courses that I own. Matt teaches in a easy to follow style that makes me want to check out more of his courses. Definitely a 5 star lesson

great

Very cost-effective, gave a lot of things, it is definitely a super worthwhile gift package. Very sincere, as long as you practice it will definitely help you. After all it is free, you can watch it repeatedly. But the most important thing is to discuss with people to know your shortcomings and improve them. But in general, it is a very good way of learning and the price is really much cheaper than one-on-one tutoring.
