Stu Hamm

Stu Hamm attended the Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he met guitarist Steve Vai and, through him, met Joe Satriani. Hamm played bass on Vai's debut solo album, Flex-Able, which was released in 1984. Hamm has performed and recorded with Steve Vai, Frank Gambale, Joe Satriani and many other well-respected guitarists. It was playing live on tour with Satriani that brought Hamm's skills to national attention. Subsequent recordings with Satriani and other rock/fusion artists along with the release of his own solo recordings solidified his reputation as a bassist and performer.

The best

Thank you for finally providing quality bass instruction that gives students material to practice. There is so much information out about theory, but what really lacks is proper curriculum (which you have now provided). Without guidance on WHAT to practice right now, students become overwhelmed with information and don’t know what to practice first, how long to practice, or when to move on. Practice is EVERYTHiNG, but without knowing what to physically practice it is so easy to get lost, confused, and frustrated. As a teacher for many years, it is much easier, because there is a specific curriculum geared toward a specific level. You learn this, then you move on to the next skill. Thank you for providing that structure that is much needed for the student!

Enthusiastic and Effective Teacher

Stu Hamm is an enthusiastic teacher who is generously willing to share his knowledge to help those of us who want to learn to play music. He has put a lot of thought into the development of his courses, starting with "Learn Bass 1" for the most beginner of beginners. The lessons are presented in short chunks, and he has designed his courses in logical building-block layers, so we can step-by-step build up to playing actual music in just a few minutes. He's so personable and down-to-earth, he presents the lessons as if you are sitting in the room across from him. Filled with both knowledge and wisdom from someone who has spent a highly successful career in the field. Highly recommend!

Great Teacher

To hear Stu Hamm playing was always a bit demotivating: how could I possible reach that level? I still can’t of course, but he appears to be a very good teacher and not only an expert in his own style, but a master of many.

A number one bass player an educator

I enjoy very much the lessons of Stu, they are very helpfull in a lot of senses. I learn right now a lot about funk and rock grooves thanks of the Stu´s courses. They are very well explained and i have a lot of fun by learning in this way. The tablatures and audio tracks are good tools to enhace the learning process
