The Freak
We'll look at a derivation of a classic bassline-led funk song to get us started.
Chili Town
Here's a funk-rock groove in E minor to spice up your groove game.
On Funkway
An easy, mellow bassline all played on one string. Good for beginners and a good lesson in how to play simply and listen to and sync with the band.
Miss Stu
This lick is a two chord vamp that merges rock and disco. Alternate fingerings and double popping on a single string make this groove more challenging.
Coffee Grounds
More rock-funk in E minor. This is our first look at "swung" 8th notes, and our first exposure to hammer-ons in this course.
Tower Records
Now we've got a straight ahead rock groove with no funk or swing in it to show you how the SOUND of using your thumb can add another layer of tone to your playing.

Slapping applications

This course from the always entartaining Mr Stu Hamm features examples in many styles (even unusual ones) that made me look to this technique in a new way. My only crticism is that I wished for more challenging material to be included: the grooves are very nice but not very difficult even for a late beginner/early intermediate player.

Slapping

I started seeing bass players who slapped in the late 70's and 80's. With this course you can understand this very important technique for a bass player. yeah
