Truck Drivin' Man by Buck Owens
I'll put a nickel in the jukebox and play Truck Drivin’ Man by Buck Owens and His Buckaroos. It’s one of my favorite classic Buck Owens songs. Buck plays the acoustic rhythm guitar, and Don Rich plays the electric lead guitar.
In this lesson, we went ahead and added sort of a simulated version of that pedal steel solo with a B-Bender Telecaster. We also went ahead and made up a really cool Don Rich style guitar solo on the standard Fender Telecaster that we inserted into the track for you to learn.
There is also a high-capoed acoustic guitar, a second acoustic guitar part that’s really fun and interesting, so we’ll get into that as well. This is a classic song, a great recording, and a nice window into how this band works together and how their albums were produced, which seems like much of it was played live together in the studio.
