Jump Start Slide Guitar

About this course

Most guitar players, even pros, tend to shy away from learning how to play slide guitar mistakenly thinking it's too large of a learning curve. Yet, we all aspire to be more expressive and creative when we’re soloing.

Ariel Posen’s Jump Start Slide Guitar is designed to get busy pros and practicing guitarists up and running quickly and painlessly.

"The textural, expressive, and vocal-like qualities of slide guitar take your soloing and improvisations to a whole other level — and you can do it in standard tuning.

The more expressive we can be with our playing, the better we’re able to bring out the essence of the story we’re telling with our solos and improvisations.

I’ll first show you the core techniques, we’ll practice the techniques together, and then we’ll put it all to work, over backing tracks, for real-world musical context.”

In Ariel Posen’s Jump Start Slide Guitar course: Slides, Strings, Action, Essential Right Hand Techniques, Slide Vibrato & Intonation, Sliding Pentatonic Scales, Sliding Major Scales, Sliding Minor Scales, Sliding Horizon: E Minor, Slide Restraint & Dynamics, Sequencing Note Clusters with Slide, and Double Stops with a Slide

Ariel will demonstrate and explain all of the key concepts and techniques. You’ll practice everything with Ariel onscreen and have all of TrueFire’s learning tools at your fingertips. Practice and play your way through the course and you’ll be pulling out your slide at gigs and jams in no time at all!

You’ll have all of TrueFire’s advanced learning tools at your finger tips to personalize your workspace and learn at your own pace.

You can loop, slow down, or speed up any section of a lesson. Plus, all of the tab and notation is synced to the videos for the optimal learning experience. You’ll also get tab and standard notation files to print out, Guitar Pro files, and all of the backing tracks to practice with.

It's great.

You need to know some guitar to understand the material. Otherwise, it's great, showcase lots of slide guitar phrasing.

I have been playing slide for a while, but am mostly self -taught. This was a great series for me as it helped me with some of the techniques of which I was relatively ignorant. So, my slide playing got better immediately. The course focuses on standard tuning slide playing. Recommended if you want to get to the next level of lead slide playing. Relative, to the other course I went through (electric blues with Eric Madis--also outstanding), this course was shorter and easier.

Thank you Ariel!

Ariel Posen is a master of subtlety and composition, and certainly my favorite slide player. It’s such a blessing that he happens to be an outstanding teacher as well.
