Hello, I'm Diego Figueiredo, and welcome to Brazilian Jazz Guitarra Arrangements.

Jazz guitarists love the freedom they have to reharmonize melodies, chords and progressions. Fingerstyle jazz players can arrange any song, even old standards, with an unlimited variety of harmonic colors.

In this course, I'll share many of my favorite approaches for creating colorful arrangements across six pieces – a mix of both jazz standards and my original compositions.

For each, I’ll start by showing you the basic harmony, and then I’ll show you two different arrangements. The first one will be very accessible, with simple, beautiful chord inversions that complement the melody. The second arrangement will expand the harmony with even more colorful extensions and chord substitutions to bring much more movement and atmosphere to the piece.

Reharmonization Primer
I'd like to start off by showing you my approach for this course. I use a lot of different ways to think about how to Reharmonization, how to put some colors in the chords, how I use the inversions, and substitutions. I'll teach you some of my arrangements of famous songs and some of my original songs.

Makes learning fun

Easy to follow and fun to play. Diego is my favourite player and the music choices are wonderful. Great for learning as you can go over everything several times to get some very difficult chord changes.

Too hard for me, not enough explanation

Diego F is an amazing player and I wanted to love this course. But he sort of cheerfully says "so I do something like this" and plays an impossibly hard arrangement without explaining how he came up with the voicings, or chord substitutions, or whatever. So the course may be good for someone advanced enough to read his mind, but then again, they may not need the course.
