Bebop Soloing Goldmine

First, Sheryl Bailey is an amazing bebop player and a professor of music at Berklee in Boston. Second, this is a collection of clips from a weeklong online workshop. Throughout, the program is supplemented with short lessons recorded in the studio, but the bulk of the course is longer talks with questions fielded and more freeform “lectures” than TrueFire courses typically have. There are many 30+ minute sessions as well as question and answer sessions. Nevertheless, the content is here. Bailey gives as much material and does as much playing as in any regular course. The Bootcamp format allows her the luxury of long form lectures and recorded interactions that provide gold. If you take your time and listen/study, there is a semester course at Berklee here. Well worth checking out if you are interested in Bebop style soloing over changes.

Jazz Bootcamp: Rhythm Changes & Soloing

I like Sheryl's way of teaching. It's straight forward and clear, but challenging. It means repeat & repeat until it sounds good enough to continue to the next lesson.

A jazzy bootcamp

I have six of her courses. I like the way she teaches. This bootcamp is no exception. It was a great idea that Truefire put some bootcamps among the courses. It is always a good thing that we go in immersion on something we love. Thanks ...
