30 Harmonic Fingerstyle Licks
Hi, I'm Trevor Gordon Hall. Welcome to 30 Harmonic Fingerstyle Licks You MUST Know!

I've always loved the sound of harmonics. From the very first time I heard a harmonic, I thought, "What is that?" This collection is the result of years of experimenting and exploring what you can do to add harmonics into your fingerstyle playing.

As we play our way through the course, I'll give you some useful tips and approaches that will help you in fingerstyle harmonics. I'll demonstrate and breakdown each of the licks, across a variety of harmonic options and techniques.

All of the licks are transcribed, and you'll be able to sync the tab and notation to the video using TrueFire's learning tools. We'll also play through each lick with a metronome, so you can hear what it sounds like in context to the beat.

Ready to get started? Grab your guitar and let's go!
Natural Harmonic Melody
In this lick we will explore the start of natural harmonics on the 5th 7th and 12th frets. This will get us started on what harmonics are before we expand further.
Chime-Like Natural Harmonics
In this lick we expand the natural harmonics to include 2 simultaneously at the end of the lick. This will allow us to see where harmonics are single notes and groups can go.
Pentatonics and Harmonics
This lick is an E minor pentatonic scale on the 7th and 12th frets. This helps us see what other sounds are possible outlining a common scale everyone learns when they first start.
Natural Harmonics with Strumming
In this lick we grab available harmonic chords on the 5th, 7th and 12 frets while strumming a progression. This helps us see what options are available as fill ins in between chord changes.
Moving Harmony
In this lick we focus on using the harmonics we have learned so far as a melody in between various chords. This enables us to let know keep sustaining as we switch chords opening up your sound.
Moving Bass Notes
In this lick we use the 5th and 7th fret harmonics while shifting the bass notes. This allows us to hear how the same harmonic notes played with different bass notes can sound different.

Unique course! I learned much about harmonics by playing my way through this course. Many licks are advanced however, and will take some practice.

A Harmonic's Encyclopedia for guitar! Wowsers!

This course is amazing. I've been playing for 50+ years and learned the squeals and some touch harmonics using fuzz etc. I'm as much into pretty things and acoustic now. I must say this Trevor Gordon was already taking me to school by the 2nd lesson. Totally unexpected! Fantastic. Lots of tips I never knew and options on the methods to play for the best or alternative results. From pretty easy to the work & study to be better like most things are. You get them all here. Impress yourself and those you play with by adding some cool new harmonics along the way! Well worth the $$ and effort!
