"Versatile" is an understatement

To say Jason is a versatile guitarist is not doing him justice. Chet Atkins/Merle Travis style fingerpicking, surf rock, blues, classic country, modern country, rockabilly... he is fantastic at each and every one. His teaching style is encouraging and relaxing. I never get the feeling he's watching the clock so he can send me out and run the next paying customer in. (There ARE online instructors who give me that feeling) If only I were as good a student as he is a teacher. Lol I own all but two of his courses. I'll get those when funds allow. He's that good. If you are on the fence regarding any of his courses, in the words of the old Nike ads... Just do it.

When does he sleep??!!

I have no idea when Jason gets any sleep. he has so many invaluable lessons at true fire, it boggles the mind! His teaching style is relaxed, but focused, brevity the order of the day, but packed full of priceless playing tips, techniques, theory and a vast knowledge of guitar musical history, and some fine guitar playing, my go to educator here, highly recommended!

I'm a better guitar player because of Jason

Simply put Jason is a ridiculously great guitar player and teacher. He covers topics and musical styles that are authentic and old-school fantastic: country, western swing, americana, rockabilly and understands the nuances of these styles, knows how to play them and explain them. I own most of his courses on TrueFire and am also a member of his Speakeasy channel. He really knows his stuff! I have also had a handful of private lessons with him. I’ve been playing for 40+ years but stagnated for about 30 of those years. I’ve gotten better and playing guitar parts I didn’t think possible previously. I have always found him to be easy-going, generous, supportive, unpretentious, and patient. And again, he is so good that it’s inspiring just to watch him play. It’s also obvious that he genuinely loves the guitar and music.

One of the Best lessons on channel!

As a Music Producer it was very important for me to focus on my guitar playing and develop my own sound. A few months ago I came across Jason Loughlins lessons on Truefire and the lessons were a boon for someone like me who was exploring and being creative. The lessons were so intuitive, engaging and most importantly the topics ranging from country to almost everything were very helpful, and creative. The All access pass that I have won has surely helped me a lot to access all the content on the website and made me a better Musician! Hoping to see more in the future. Thankyou Truefire.

A stellar educator

Jason Loughlin is a mythical figure. Like a centaur in Greek mythology, he is part man and part tele, and his wisdom is deep. His basic 1-2-3 country is the most effective "jump-start" course in a musical style in history. All his other courses (I'm on Travis picking now) are a joy. I'll stop waxing lyrical and name the qualities that make him so unique: (1) his courses are always incredibly well thought-out in choice of topics, of materials, and structure – very, very effective if you put in the work; (2) he has a deep knowledge and love for the musical styles he practices – you're learning from a real-deal master; (3) he has impeccable musical taste… it's ALWAYS great stuff; (4) his licks and exercises are approachable but challenging material, lending itself to a lot of readings and teaching you vocabulary – not just isolated licks. One of the top educators in Truefire or anywhere, really.
