Two-time Grammy winner Marcy Marxer is the Queen of Swing. A master of several stringed instruments, Marcy is extraordinarily dialed into traditional roots music be it old-time country, folk, bluegrass and of course swing. Marxer has over 50 recordings to her credit and has been honored with 8 Signature Model Instruments from C.F. Martin & Co. (the MC3H Acoustic Guitar and MM5-17T tenor guitar), Gold Tone Instruments (CEB-4-MM model Cello Banjo), National Reso-Phonics (MM Triolean Tenor Guitar) and Kala, Talsma and Ken Miller Signature Model Ukuleles.
Marcy has been featured in Acoustic Guitar Magazine and their special editions of Ukulele Magazine and Flatpicking Guitar Magazine. She has also written articles for all of the above. Marcy also happens to be a very gifted instructor, which will serve you quite well in this introduction to swing guitar rhythm playing. If you know how to tune your guitar and already have a few chords under your belt, Marcy will get you up, running and swingin' in no time at all.
I'm following several of Marcy's courses as a guitar player turning my hand to Uke and Mandolin. I really enjoy Marcy's upbeat, positive presentation and how she's able to make everything so simple to follow. She is a great teacher and definitely knows what she is talking about, and with such a great delivery I find her courses a real pleasure and very inspiring.

A fun and gentle teacher with great technique and humor
Marcy has experience teaching at all levels. She is an accomplished musician, an excellent and patient teacher as well as a gentle and humble person. If you are looking for a teacher who can get you started or advance you to the next level but are in any way afraid or reluctant, you should definitely give Marcy a try. She's the nicest instructor and wants people to enjoy themselves as they grow. I have so much fun in her jam sessions too!

A Swingin' Five star instructor
I'm so happy I bought Marcy Marxer's Swingin' Rhythm Handbook as it's opened the world of comping jazz guitar to me, a world that I thought hitherto inaccessible.
This is another excellent course from my favourite Truefire teacher Marcy Marxer. The course gives you all the information to get started playing rhythm jazz guitar. The presentation is clear and given in a friendly manner which is ideal for beginners and intermediate players who could otherwise be easily put off or intimidated by what at first seems a complicated and unachievable subject . Finally this course is great fun! Thank you so much..

Very good.
As a Musician it was very important for me to play other instruments other than just guitar. Learning the basics of ukele wasn't that difficult but to become proficient was a different thing. I came across Marcys lessons on the channel and I was blown away. It helped me analyse the song with respect to ukele, build different styles of chords, incorporate different techniques , which was very challenging for a beginner but really helpful. The lessons were really easy to follow, precise articulate and most importantly engaging.

A Great Instructor
I watched Marcy Marxer's Western Swing lessons and enjoyed them thoroughly. She is a great teacher and definitely knows what she is talking about. Highly recommended for Bob Wills fans and anybody who wants to improve their swing guitar playing. Her lessons will have you playing songs like "Stay a Little Longer" and others in no time at all. Give her videos a watch!
