Cat's in the Cradle | Overview
"Cat's in the Cradle" was released in the Fall of 1974 and was the opening track on Harry Chapin's fourth album, 'Verities & Balderdash'. The single quickly topped the charts in the US and Canada and would prove to be the only #1 hit for Chapin. However, the song has remained a staple for generations of listeners and did experience a resurgence in 1992 when a cover version by the hard-rock band, Ugly Kid Joe, made it to #6 on the Billboard Hot 100.
