About this course

The quality and clarity of Ian Stich’s teaching approaches have rightfully earned him massive praise and a huge following on his website and social media network. We’re thrilled to welcome Ian to the family with his first TrueFire course, Blues Soloing Decoded!

”Have you ever wondered how your favorite blues guitar gods can blow your mind with their solos and wish you could do that as well? You might feel that you're missing a few pieces to the puzzle. Or maybe they are just naturally talented, and there’s no way that you can take your guitar skills to that level?

I created this course to decode Blues Soloing, and give you all of the “missing pieces” so that you too can learn how to express yourself and craft compelling blues solos the same way your guitar heroes do.

I’ll also show you tips for phrasing and creating your own licks, we’ll deconstruct a blues solo to help you connect the dots, and finally, we’ll even create one together, on the spot.”

Ian will explain and demonstrate all of the blues approaches and techniques you need to take your solos and improvisations to the next level. He has a brilliant way of showing you how to layer them all up in one place, on the neck, to make it super easy to see his “code” in action. You’ll get a solid grip on the 12-bar form, and the essential chord shapes, arpeggios and scales that you need to know.

You’ll have all of TrueFire’s advanced learning tools at your fingertips to personalize your workspace and learn at your own pace.

You can loop, slow down, or speed up any section of a lesson. Plus, all of the tabs and notation are synced to the videos for the optimal learning experience. You’ll also get tab charts, standard notation, and Guitar Pro files, plus all of the backing tracks to practice with.

Grab your guitar, and let’s unleash our blues chops with Ian Stich!

Blues Soloing Decoded
Hey everyone, it's Ian Stich here.

Well my friends, the blues was created by humans just like you and me, NOT gods, and I created this course to help YOU decode Blues Soloing so you too can learn to easily express yourself on the instrument, crafting awesome blues solos the same way your guitar heroes do.

In Blues Soloing Decoded we’ll take all of the blues ingredients and layer them up in one place on the neck so it’s dead easy for you to see the code: the 12-bar form, the simple chord shapes and arpeggios, and the couple of essential scales you need.

I’ll show you tips for phrasing and creating your own licks, we’ll deconstruct a blues solo to help you connect the dots, and finally we’ll even create one together, on the spot.

If you’re ready to start crafting some exhilarating blues solos, grab your guitar and let’s crack the code.

Ian makes it simple!

More than any other instructor, Ian has a great way of explaining things that feel overwhelming at first by breaking them down into very small parts. So far I feel that I have made better progress using this course than I have previously with blues courses which sometimes give you too much information at once. He really is de-mystifying blues soloing for me and making it seem manageable.

Ian Explains the Blues!

I took this course based on watching many of Ian's YouTube videos. Ian is a great teacher and he is able to explain his methods in easy to follow examples and uses simple analogies to make a point. The reason I took this course was to increase my understanding of the blues 12 bar structure, specifically of what to play over the I, IV, V changes. After completing this course, I was able to accomplish this!

Ian Stich is a wonderful teacher. Soloing can be pretty difficult, but the way Stich explaines all the moves (and the connection between them) makes it easy to comprehend and stimulating to play.

Wow! Can't say enough good things. . .

Thank you Stich & TF for this course. It's undoubtably the most fun and valuable course I've had so far. I truly appreciated the format and the explanations, the dive right in approach - it's all here and it just makes you want to rip right through it. I'm an intermediate player ready to advance and this was an inspiring course that makes you want to dig in even more to take it to the next level. In fact - would LOVE to see a Next Level Blues Decoded course from Stich. Can't wait for more - many thanks!!
