Blues Rhythm Handbook
Hey, Seth Rosenbloom here.

In this Blues Rhythm Handbook, we'll explore what I consider to be 8 of the most important techniques and creative approaches for playing blues rhythm guitar.

I'll show you how to develop rhythmic motifs, smaller voicings, adding extensions and upper structures, strumming vs comping, and more.

We’ll then apply each rhythm approach, over backing tracks, across a variety of blues feels, tempos and keys.

Everything is tabbed and synced to the video. You can slow down or loop any of the video lessons to learn at your own pace.

Rhythmic Motifs
In this video we dive into Rhythmic Motifs. Rhythmic Motifs are something in the song to come back too. Good references are old blues records with horn sections, in these records they create dynamics and a nice feeling that fills in the listeners experience.
G Shuffle Motivation
We are going to take this idea of a rhythmic motif and apply it over a 12 bar blues with 3 simple chords.
G Shuffle Motivation
In this performance I will demonstrate Rhythmic Motifs over G Shuffle Motivation.
G Shuffle Motivation
The concepts of this lesson will teach you the importance of rhythmic phrasing and the passing anticipating the 1. Don't over play, leave space and focus on adding to the overall track and not taking away.
Small 5th and 6th String Voicings
In this video we will focus on the 5th and 6th string voicing. What we are looking for is the chord voicing that carves out some space for the rest of the band. You can utilize hybrid picking to help create dynamics and character in your track.
Slow & Light in B
In this segment we will go over the changes over a track of slow blues.
