Kid will demonstrate and break down all of the licks using backing tracks that he produced in his own studio using a live drummer, bass player, and keyboard player. They cover a variety of blues feels, keys and tempos. 

”I’ll show you licks you can use over the one chord and the four chord, we’ll cover turnaround licks, licks you can work over the entire blues form, big bends and vibrato, double stops, chromatics, diminished chord licks, and I’ll even show you a handful of ways you can kick off a slow blues.”

Kid will explain and demonstrate all of the key concepts and approaches along the way. You’ll get standard notation and tabs for all of the performance studies. Plus, you’ll be able to use TrueFire’s learning tools to sync the tab and notation to the video lesson. You can also loop or slow down the videos so that you can work with the lessons at your own pace. All of the backing tracks are included to work with on your own as well.

Hey, I'm Kid Andersen! Welcome to 30 Refined Blues Licks You Must Know. I've always been drawn to blues guitarists who aren't afraid to play outside the typical blues box and pentatonic scales.

This collection will make up the cornerstone of your blues vocabulary, and includes many of my favorite licks to play over a variety of blues changes. I'll offer some tips on soloing and improvisation that you'll be able to use over a variety of blues styles. We'll also cover licks that you can use over the 1 chord and 4 chord, turnaround licks, big bends, vibrato, double stops, chromatics, diminished chord licks, and even a handful of ways to kick off the slow blues.

Royal Entrance: 1
In this video I'll go over the 1st lick for what I call "Royal Entrance: 1." This one's in the key of A and is the classic BB King slow blues opening lick.
Royal Entrance: 2
This time I'll demonstrate the 2nd lick for what I like to call "Royal Entrance: 2." This one's in the key of A and is something you'll hear from BB King and Freddie King. I'll also discuss the importance of vibrato in this lick.
Royal Entrance: 3
Here we'll go over the 3rd lick for what I call "Royal Entrance: 3." This one's in the key of A and needs to be played with a little extra intensity.
Royal Entrance: 4
Now I'll demonstrate the 4th lick for what I like to call "Royal Entrance: 4." This one's in the key of A and is something you'll hear from Albert King. And, just like he would, I prefer to play this lick without a pick.
Rush into Action!
In this video I'll go over the 5th lick for what I call "Rush into Action!" This one's in the key of A and is in the style of Otis Rush. I'll also discuss the importance of fully committing to your vibrato.
The Return of the King
This time I'll demonstrate the 6th lick for what I like to call "Return of the King." This one's in the key of A and is a great way to really give it to 'em when it matters the most.

Great blues licks and feel. This is a lesson in blues style and how to be authentic. Kid tells you where the influence is in the lick and how to apply it to the progression and also some information about why it works. It works because you can feel the blues!

Inspiring Blues Licks

Kid Andersen shows excellent content. If you are looking to expand your knowledge and way of playing the guitar this is the right lesson to get it. The purpose of the content is that you can have a wider use of the scales and a greater number of variations in the guitar licks you use. The instructions are specific and understandable, the material is well constructed to have a constant progress, besides it's fun to listen and learn all these techniques.
