What is a guitar lick?
A lick is a short, memorable musical phrase, usually a few notes or a quick run, that you can drop into solos and improvisation. Learning licks one at a time is one of the fastest ways to build a vocabulary you can actually use when you play.
How does Lick of the Day work?
A new free lesson is featured every day, the same one for everyone. Come back tomorrow for a fresh one, or hit Show me another to explore more free lessons right now. Catch one a day and the small wins add up fast.
How should I practice a lick a day?
Play it slowly until it feels clean, then gradually bring up the speed. Try it in different spots on the neck and over a backing track so it sticks. A few focused minutes a day beats a long session once a week.
