I rank this a 3/5 because TrueFire should indicate the targeted skill level so buyers can make an informed purchase. The work that Mimi has done here is excellent but I feel it is better suited for intermediate to advanced players.

If ever you need evidence that the heart of the matter lies in the groove and pulse of a song ,check out what happens in the background of these grooves. Sure the lead lines are just simply Beautiful to the ear ( particularity in chorus sections) but sitting in the groove I find my self drifting in Pulse paradise. Enjoy the ride. I am

Jazzed Based Medium Tempo Grooves

I'm glad to see a jazz based In The Jam, in addition to all the great blues ones I use. Tempos are mostly medium, nothing too fast or too slow. Chord sequences are also pretty basic, so if you are looking for complex chord structures or extreme tempos you won't find them here. But what is here is very useful for practicing your ii v i's, etc. As is common with most In The Jams there is both a Lead and a Rhythm commentary track for each tune. Mimi's parts are all tabbed out so you can cop licks or chords you like, but this is not a regular course where she explains the lines in depth. The commentaries are pretty cursory overviews along the lines of "I'm locking in with the rhythm section, or I'm leaving space." All in all a solid group of tunes for practicing your jazz grooves.
