Probably the Best in the Jam so far
So...get this one. Let me splain. I own a whole ton of these things. While many of them have killer players, some of the experiences are subpar. Many of these In the Jams allow somone to just jam over a premade backing track that is looping. It's really lame to not have an ending. You can learn a lot from an intro and an ending. In addition, the looping nature of some of the backing bands is lame as the other "musicians" don't really respond to the soloist. Not so here. Here we get a real live band made of killer musicians. Truth is, I had never heard of them until I bought this during the most recent sale, but I knew Scott Sharrard. Now I'm listening to them on my streaming platforms just to hear more. Great things about this jam: 1) Live band reacts as they should. 2) Several jams and a few tracks as well...all are excellent! 3). Multiple solos from different instruments. Good arrangement skills. There are periods of sparsness, shout choruses, etc. 4). BASS TABS! I don't understand why so many of these In the Jams are missing bass tabs. 5.) Both guitarists are also tabbed. Often these have the same person playing rhythm and lead, but here you get 2 guitarists that trade off playing rhythm and lead at different points in the jams. You get to hear different approaches from each of them. 6). Intros and endings. You can learn from them. 7.) The jams/grooves are accessible, AND they sound good. Sometimes the grooves in these In the Jams are just not groovy, but these are. You can really learn from them. It's not just hearing some virtuoso guitar player noodling around playing stuff that is hard to emulate and doesn't even sound good. This is tasty stuff, and there are plenty of easy parts mixed in with hard stuff. 8. This is unique. The older in the Jams were always unique. Nowadays it seems truefire films a ton of duplicate courses where the turn the same 10 tracks into a course and then an In the Jam. I guess different commentary on the jams, but it's not unique content. This particular in the Jam stands alone and is fabulous. Bravo Truefire. Bravo Little Feat. Fan for life.
