In this Blues Speak edition of In The Jam, Matt Schofield plays both the rhythm and soloing guitar parts across 10 blues multi-track video jams in a variety of blues feels, tempos, and keys. On each track, Matt lays down a rhythm part from start to finish and then takes a couple of choruses worth of solos leaving choruses open for you to solo over as well.
“In this edition of Blues Speak In The Jam, I’ve put together 10 tracks that represent the range of blues feels that I play at my own shows and on my own records. I recorded these live in the studio with my touring rhythm section featuring bass, drums, and B3 organ. We’ll jam together over Texas shuffles, some funky stuff, fast swinging shuffles, minor and some slow blues, New Orleans second line, we’ve got a boogaloo, and there’s plenty more in between. For each of my performance videos, I’ll also give you a commentary: things I was listening for, my approaches, and how I reacted to what the band was playing. You’ll get all the video, tab, and notation for both my rhythm and lead parts. Whatever your instrument - guitar, bass, drums, horns… no matter what you play, we’ll have a great time jamming together.“
You can switch video angles between Matt’s rhythm and lead performances as well as adjust the volume, mute or solo the parts — you control the mix!
Mute Matt’s rhythm or lead part, bass or drums and play those yourself. Singers, horn players, keyboard players -- you can all join in the jam!
Along with all the performance videos, Matt gives you commentary about the things he was listening for, his approaches, note choices, scale choices, things he’s reacting to -- his overall concepts and guidelines.
Lead sheets are included for all of the tracks, and you’ll also get all the video, tab, and notation for both the rhythm and lead guitar parts.

I enjoyed learning to comp, playing the lead, and improvising over this collection of multitrack jams. Matt has outlined various approaches to structuring lead that inspire even more variation within the framework by demonstrating innovative and thrilling melody lines of these Jams. My favorite thing about this Jam Pack is the variety of grooves and moods.
Overall, a high value both from the standpoint of entertainment and the applicability of the ideas!

No synced tabs to keep your pace Im no one and my opinion doesnt matter.
Man super disappointment no rolling tabs. Joe B gets rolling tabs in his in the jam but not MATT. This would be my hands down favorite course with rolling tabs. Im very sorry i thought a new course with MATT would have rolling tabs like all other courses but nope just paper tabs not for me at all its the opposite reason i use true fire i dont get it at all I NEED THIS COURSE WITH TABS that Sync up PLEASE. YOU GUYS GOT MATT SCHOFIELD HERE WHAT IS GOING ON?

Great teacher and performer
I have taken several of Matt's courses. I recommend them all. I can definitely hear a difference in my playing after having taken his courses. I especially like the play along lessons. I find I am replaying those all the time just work out all the tricks I've learned.
I highly recommend taking as many courses from Matt as you can.

It's Matt Schofield, what more do you need to know?
Matt Schofield is one of the best blues educators here on Truefire. He's truly a great player too. This In The Jam session is probably the closest thing any of us will get to actually playing alongside him, and the band used for the backing track is also super tight. Most recommended!
