Good But Not Enough -- For Me
Corey is both a talented guitarist and skilled teacher. However, this collection is too diverse. There were only two "grooves" that fit my set of sensibilities. His other offerings on Truefire are more focused and to-the-point. My suggestion is to look elsewhere. YMMV.

Great mix of grooves
This jam is a favorite of mine for my current focus on bass. No rocket science here, but great foundational bass grooves in several different styles that every bass player needs to know. Corey's guitar playing is excellent, as well, and will challenge guitarists wanting to master these styles.

Slinky and Gritty
Now this is a jam pack that is right up my alley. A perfect combination of skanky and gritty and bluesy. These “In The Jam” packs are truly a wonderful supplement to the TrueFire courses. They provide a perfect environment to experiment and apply the concepts you’ve been learning in the core courses in a band context, from the convenience of your own home; with the ultimate power of determining the levels of each of your bandmates... if only this was something that was possible in the real world sometimes... but I digress... This pack is a very well compiled set with a range of tunes to get you in the right bluesy mood to practice for hours and hours and not even realize you’re actually practicing; they’re that good. It’s very likely you’ll just get lost in some of them and find yourself almost forgetting that you’re only in your bedroom. Reality be damned! The best aspect of these, to me, is the addition of the commentary and sheet music for each of the parts which allow you to even learn beyond the guitar and develop some understanding of the bass, organ, and drum parts of these tracks to give you a more solid foundational understanding of each track as a complete piece. I highly recommend that you take advantage of the ability to do this and not ONLY focus on the lead guitar parts... You’ll only become a more complete guitar player by learning each part of the track because then you’ll have a better understanding of WHERE you fit in that mix and how to best approach your part so that it compliments the rest of the band, not loudly tramples it. This is the key to getting invited back to the next jam session or making the audition for a new band. The more you know, the better off you’ll be in the long run so I really advise you to take full advantage of this wonderful tool and jam to your heart’s content! Enjoy the noodling that awaits you once you take the plunge and buy !

Great course and good fun!
Loads of tasty licks to pick up on and cool rhythm comping ideas as well. The In The Jam format is great and really allows you to feel quite immersed in playing along with Corey.
