Man!! I love jammin' with Andy!!!

I'm so glad I bought this Jam! Jammin' with Andy is the most fun I've had in a while (I know, I should get out more), but I'm picking up so many cool ideas from him. He covers a wide range of styles, and surely inspires!

To my knowledge, there is nothing like In The Jams outside of TrueFire. These are incredible products! Here, you are treated to great works of art from Andy himself. Watching his performance is worth the price of admission! And, the quality of recordings is quite good. You get to hear directly from Andy, his commentary / insight into his compositional, note, and technique rationale. The tracks are varied in style, while remaining true to the rock genre. The PDFs are a tremendous beneficial, but, for a game-changer, the audio controls are brilliant for a multi-instrumentalist. I can pick from among my gear to work my chops as well as vocals, lyrics, and melodies with the lead turned down. The limits of this tool is your imagination!

Learn from the best

Andy is one of my idols on the guitar. He is also a very genuine and lovely human being, as I learned when I met him in New York. His true power is through the understanding of melody and harmony and how they work together. How to squeeze as much affection out of each note. But his g-string is flat (inside joke)

Amazing playing. In over my head, but that's a good thing sometimes.

As is the case with all of the In the Jams I own, the players don't hold back, so in this case you get Andy Timmons doing all the incredible things he does. His phrasing and timing and legato slides are so elegant. It's all tabbed, but playing it is of course impossible for me. That's OK, the tracks are great for doing your own soloing. They are exactly as the title says: melodic rock Great for learning to follow the changes and not try to shred the minor pentatonic. The In the Jams are the bridge from step by step lessons to "here's the superstar cutting loose". Granted, it's a really, really long bridge. :) Though I'll never be able to play any of this note for note, there is so much to learn if you're interested in putting in some work. I've found it very satisfying to learn even just a few of his phrases and use them in my own playing.
