The Blues Guitar Method takes students from foundational rhythm and lead skills to confident, expressive blues playing across three progressive levels.
Students begin with shuffle rhythms, core riffs, Minor Pentatonic and Blues scale vocabulary, 12-bar licks, and classic three-chord songs. They then expand into barre chords, movable blues chords, slow blues progressions, essential feels, Major Pentatonic sounds, turnarounds, and more advanced soloing vocabulary. In the final level, students refine touch, tone, phrasing, technique, artist-inspired vocabulary, full song performance, slow-blues solos, and real-world jam skills.
Across 20 Lesson Sets, 14 Labs, and 330 video lessons and playalongs, students build the rhythm, vocabulary, feel, confidence, and musical instincts to play the blues with authenticity and expression.
Level 1 establishes the student’s core blues foundation through rhythm, riff vocabulary, basic scales, 12-bar blues phrasing, classic songs, and introductory jam skills. Students learn to hold down basic blues rhythm parts, begin soloing with essential blues vocabulary, and apply ideas in real musical contexts.
Level 2 expands the student’s rhythm vocabulary, chord knowledge, soloing language, and fretboard fluency. Students move beyond basic blues playing into movable chords, barre chords, slow blues progressions, turnarounds, major pentatonic sounds, and more expressive blues phrasing.
This level helps students sound more convincing, flexible, and musical in real blues contexts.
Level 3 focuses on refinement. Students move from competent blues playing toward expressive, authentic performance. This level emphasizes touch, tone, technique, phrasing, solo construction, artist vocabulary, jam interaction, and real-world musical instincts.
Students learn solos, songs, jam scenarios, and artist-inspired vocabulary that prepare them for blues jams, gigs, and deeper personal expression.
