Steven van der Nat About the Educator

Steven van der Nat is a guitarist, singer and songwriter from the Netherlands. In his teens he picked up the guitar, and started teaching himself by copying licks off of 50s Freddie King records.

He's best known as the front man of his band Little Steve & the Big Beat, with whom he has played many festivals throughout Europe since the band started in 2013. The mix of blues, rhythm n blues and soul proved popular as his debut album Another Man got many positive reviews soon after it was released, such as;

His band was also nominated for Best Band, Best Drummer and Best Vocalist for the 2015 Dutch Blues Awards.

Throughout the years Steven has also toured and recorded with bands such as Steven Troch Band (BE), Dede Priest, Mike & the Mellotones, The Backbones, and many others. The Backbones regularly played with artists such as Matt Schofield, Monster Mike Welch, Hook Herrera, Julian Vaughan, Mitch Kashmar, Sax Gordon, Boyd Small.

Steve has played many festivals and clubs during the years, some highlights are: De Zwarte Cross (NL), Blues Peer (BE), Moulin Blues (NL), North Sea Jazz Club (NL), Breda Jazz Festival (NL), Seven Nights to Blues (FR), Nuit Du Blues (FR).
