James Hogan About the Educator

James Hogan is known by many as a world class guitarist. He's an artist who is regarded highly by his peers and is in constant demand as a touring sideman, studio musician and producer. Hogan is admired worldwide for his musicality, his soulfulness and his rare ability to play authentically in virtually any style of music.

In addition to a successful music career, James Hogan is also a fine music teacher. James was a senior instructor at The National Guitar Workshop's Florida, Connecticut, Nashville, Virginia and SUNY Purchase campuses from 1998-2012. Hogan is currently an Adjunct Guitar Professor at The University Of North Florida and Florida State College. James holds a Bachelor's Degree in Jazz Performance (Summa Cum Laude) from the highly acclaimed University Of North Florida Jazz Performance program, where he was a collegiate Downbeat Award winner and student of jazz guitar virtuoso Barry Greene. James Hogan is a featured artist and "Master Mentor" at the annual Crown Guitar Festival in Big Fork, Montana.
