Loved Jon's courses and got his book too

Jon is a master and breaks the elements down very well - modal playing is something that confused me for a long long time - I remember quizzing my teacher at school and they couldn't answer the question well enough for me to understand. It wasn't until I was perusing the net during lockdown that somebody said try out Jon Finn's book - so I ordered the book, then found this site and immediately smashed through Jon's Modal Rock Soloing...great stuff and eat to understand and now I understand what now seems very simple....but having the demos made a world of difference....Cheers Jon!

A great guitarist and educator

Jon Finn is a great guitarist, with an exceptional technique, the sound that he is able to generate with the guitar makes you want to learn to play that way, he has a singularity in his style that reminds us of great guitarists, the speed, cleanliness and feeling can not be missing, having as an instructor a great guitarist is undoubtedly an opportunity that you can not miss, the content that he shows you can be a great help to improve your level.

It is like always...

... the notorious drill is left as an exercise to the reader. Nice approach. Probably i get some deeper understanding of modal improvisation after playing classical guitar for about 50 years 😎 The route is the goal (Yet another Zen saying). For advancing players i recommend reading Emilio Pujol’s „Escuela razonada de la guitarra: basada en los principos de la técnica de Tárrega; Buenos Aires: Ricordi Americana, 1954“ where the author describes/spells out any „playing situation“ he could imagine.
