Guitar Zen: Slide (Coming Soon)

The beauty of slide guitar lies in its ability to make every note sing with expression, character, and emotion. In this course, you'll discover how a relaxed, step-by-step approach to slide guitar can turn an often unpredictable technique into a natural extension of your playing, giving you a whole new voice on the instrument.

You'll start with the essentials, from choosing and wearing a slide to developing clean notes and confident control. From there, you'll explore expressive slide techniques in standard tuning before opening things up with open D and open G tunings. Along the way, you'll develop the string control, picking techniques, and melodic vocabulary needed to bring the unmistakable sound of slide guitar into your playing.

"Slide guitar doesn't have to be frustrating. When you slow things down and approach it with patience, it can become your second voice."

You'll learn how to:

• Choose and position your slide for comfort, control, and accuracy
• Develop clean notes and confident intonation with essential slide techniques
• Shape expressive melodies and slide into notes in standard tuning
• Explore open D and open G tunings for classic slide guitar sounds
• Improve string control with essential blocking and muting techniques
• Develop fingerpicking and flatpicking approaches for slide guitar
• Find scales and navigate the fretboard in open tunings
• Build your own musical ideas using classic slide licks and phrasing

Each lesson builds logically toward more expressive slide guitar playing, helping you develop the control and confidence to make the instrument sing. You'll see, hear, and feel how these techniques come together to shape your sound and develop your own musical voice.

And with TrueFire's interactive learning tools, including synced tab, looping, slow-mo, and fretboard animations, you can dig into every detail at your own pace and comfort level.
