In this lesson, we'll dive into the main guitar part for "Sex on Fire." This part, heard in your right ear, is a key element throughout the song, primarily built around an E chord and a C# minor chord, focusing on the low E and A strings. We'll start on the 16th fret of the A string, where using your pinky can help with smooth chord transitions. The rhythm emphasizes upstrokes on the upbeat, ensuring the low E note rings through. In the chorus, we switch to an octave shape, with all downstrokes to match the original sound, while muting extra strings to keep it clean. During the breakdown, you'll play rhythmic hits with the same octave shape. Finally, as the song ends, we'll tighten up the rhythm for a crisp finish. Let's practice these parts together and get the feel just right!
