Essential Chord Vocabulary
Before we jump into learning the songs, we’ll take a moment to get comfortable with the essential chords we’ll be using throughout. Together, we’ll walk through how to play G Major (with a couple of variations), C Major, A Major, D Major, D Minor, E Minor, A Minor, and F Major—including tips on how to simplify shapes or mute certain strings if needed. Whether we’re barring with one finger or just strumming a few open strings, we’ll figure out what works best for us so we can move into the songs feeling confident and ready to play.
