Locked in Time

This course lays out the fundamentals of rhythm in 2 styles, rock and something a bit softer. There's a lot of great pieces of wisdom Brad sprinkles throughout the lessons, and he works out every possible combination, while emphasizing how the patterns you use are meant to have a dialogue and complement the beat.

Surprisingly Insightful

I've been playing as long as Brad, but not as a full time profession. Even the most basic course by a pro can impart wisdom. I got this course with my All-Access membership and thought I'd watch for what it's worth. The rhythm stuff is simple, but a useful exercise and review. What really made this worth my time was Brad's insights. He goes on about everything from how to hold a pick to how the muscles in your arm work. This was what I found most useful. I've been having issues and his five minutes on the angle of the forearm was worth the course. So, this is a very basic look at putting emphasis on the various beats of the measure with choked strums and legato strums. Brad talks about feeling the groove with great passion. He also spends more time than I needed on muting and strumming. He then goes through a dozen possible rhythms to strum. Again, basic, but throughout he expounds on his approach which is full of insight and worth 90 minutes. You never know when Brad is going to hit exactly what you need as he expounds on good technique and musicianship.
