Welcome Andy Timmons
Andy Timmons was the guitar player for Danger Danger, opening for acts like KISS and Alice Cooper all over the world, selling over a million records and two #1 music videos on MTV over their career. However, he's also an in-demand session player and has ten releases as a solo artist and with the Andy Timmons Band, as well as being the musical director with Olivia Newton-John.

You'll find Andy Timmons on many top ten guitarists lists, and if you ask any guitarist who their favorite is, his name will more than likely come up. Please join us in welcoming Andy to TrueFire Studios to record his fourth project with us!
In The Jam Overview
Andy's in the studio recording his In the Jam, allowing users to take the lead or rhythm part and jam along with him. You can mute the lead or rhythm guitar parts, any of the backing instrument, or take a backseat and listen to Andy's commentary for each guitar part. Let's take a look at some of the lead and rhythm parts Andy's been laying down at the studio.
In the Ghetto: Rhythm
We're starting out here with the rhythm part for "In the Ghetto", the sixth track from Andy's In the Jam. Based on the Donny Hathaway track of the same name, it has an early 70's funk/soul groove to it.

It's a simple two chord progression, moving from B minor to E7. Try to keep it simple here, as there will be a soloist to support over top of it. Let's roll.

In the Ghetto: Lead
Andy will now take us through the lead track of "In the Ghetto". When playing on top of the rhythm part, you can stick to E Dorian, since the progression is just going between the B minor and E7 chords.

too good

When he gets going, Andy is cooking! While it's a true statement, none of this is meant to intimidate. The techniques that he shares are not unusual or require anything superhuman to achieve, except maybe at at his tempos. It's the concepts that are most important and he does well to break them ...Read More

Andy Timmons is a great teacher!

I really love the "In the Ghetto" track! Nice lower register riffs and rhythm. This isn't really for beginners given instruction is limited. I'm looking forward to acquiring the In Jam session that Andy did.
