Watch the Using Minor Triads to Play Changes online guitar lesson by Rob Garland from Chord Navigator: CAGED Triads
Select an area of the neck to play the first chord. Find a C-A-G-E-D shape such as the Cm shape, 10th fret A string and play it on just the D-G-B strings. If it's helpful to see the C shape first then flatten the 3rd, in this case the note B to Bb, then go ahead. Then find the Am shape 5th fret A string, accommodate the b3rd on the B string 6th fret, and then the Em shape 8th fret E string and again play all three chords on just the D-G-B strings. Look how closely grouped these chords are, covering just a few frets. I'll add some embellishments.
