Watch the C Triad Inversions & CAGED online guitar lesson by Rob Garland from Chord Navigator: CAGED Triads
Within the larger C-A-G-E-D shapes, smaller voicings can be found. These are ideal for 2nd guitar parts, introductions, chord melody, etc. "Inversions" refer to chords where another note than the root is the lowest and becomes the bass. A 1st inversion has the 3rd in the bass, a 2nd inversion the 5th and a 3rd inversion has the 7th. I'll first demonstrate the sound of these inversions inside the CAGED C chord shapes with musical examples, then we can take a closer look at them.
