Watch the G7 Shuffle Rock Groove online guitar lesson by Frank Vignola from Vamps, Jams and Improv

In this segment I introduce the Super Locrian Scale. This scale is one of my favorites because I feel it opens up my ears and pulls me out of the usual consonant sounds played in the mixolydian and other arpeggios and scales. This scale has dissonant and consonant tones which is pretty cool to work with.
We'll also work with the chromatic scale, which is all 12 notes played sequentially, one at a time. Players use chromatics to connect tonal centers, chord tones and scales. I discuss hammering technique as well as pull off's which is simply more expression technique.
I also review a few of the concepts discussed up to this point in the course as a reminder of all the great concepts we're learning. Enjoy!
