Watch the G minor Vamp Solo Tech online guitar lesson by Frank Vignola from Vamps, Jams and Improv

In this section, we discuss the G Harmonic minor scale and how to use different rhythms to make musical ideas out of a scale. We'll work on playing chords in between single note lines.
We discuss building a solo and the importance of knowing your intervals. We discuss different ways of picking including all down strokes, all up strokes and alternate picking. In our discussion we touch on picking near the bridge and picking near the neck to create different sounds. Again, adding more options.
Finally we get into playing the same idea in different areas of the fingerboard because there is a difference in sound and vibe when you play an idea on the first string as opposed to playing the same idea on the third string or in a different area of the fingerboard.
