Watch the G minor Vamp Rhythm Guitar online guitar lesson by Frank Vignola from Vamps, Jams and Improv
This is a G minor jam using the same rhythm track as in Lesson 3, only the tonal center is now G minor instead of G dominant. We'll be working with chords in 4ths, learning it in a linear fashion and we'll start to get more adventurous with the rhythm patterns.
This is sometimes called "rhythmic displacement", which is playing a rhythm pattern and then playing that same rhythm pattern in a different section of the measure. We also look more at the muffled style of playing rhythm using arpeggios ala The Police. Fun stuff!
