Watch the Stay All Night: A6 & E7 online guitar lesson by Marcy Marxer from Swingin' Rhythm Handbook
Remember to use your second finger to lead you into the A6 chord for your visual "spotter". Put your second finger on the 6th string 5th fret, then put your other fingers in place. Use your ring finger to lead into the E7 chord two frets up.
Give yourself this clear visual direction and it'll be much easier to change chords up and down the fretboard.
