Watch the Visualization Techniques online guitar lesson by Robbie Calvo from Sweet Notes

A very strong technique you can use to learn and solidify your new chord, scale and arpeggio shapes is to visualize them while you are playing them but also while you are without your guitar too. I have actually learnt pieces of music for auditions without my guitar by visualizing the notes in my mind and where I would play them on the guitar if it were in my hands. Try applying this technique with a simple scale shape at a certain area of the fretboard over the course of a couple of days and see how much more adept you become in a short space of time. It works! Here is the complete R&B progression for you to try the arpeggio walking exercise over. It's the exact same principle only over all three chords. Take a deep breath and go for it!
