Watch the A minor 11th Extensions online guitar lesson by Robbie Calvo from Sweet Notes

Let's learn the Am 11 chord at the fifth position and then superimpose the A minor pentatonic scale over the top. Notice that the note we have added is the D note which wasn't a chord tone in our scale when we were playing over Am 7. So now, every note in the A minor pentatonic scale is a "Sweet Notes" over the Am 11 chord! Cool!

Lick 1 This lick starts with the 11th (D) and descends to resolve an octave lower. Lick 2 The same rhythmic phrase as lick 1 but resolves to the 11th an octave higher.
