Watch the Sweet Notes Review online guitar lesson by Robbie Calvo from Sweet Notes
To review the previous lessons, we have found that although the Minor Pentatonic scale works over the entire Minor Blues progression it only provides us with a limited amount of Sweet Notes (chord tones) over certain chords. Using the Sweet Notes approach of applying the chord arpeggio as a means of improvising gives us every note in the chord to resolve your phrases to. Not only that but none of the notes are dissonant, they are all consonant resolution points.
Adding an extension to a chord such as a 9th gives us an additional Sweet Note to target. This is what will set you apart from those who don't understand this. It's an incredibly valuable and powerful approach and we'll be covering that in the next section. I think you'll agree just how good it sounds and feels to hit all the right notes at all the right times, every time!
