Watch the Harmony Lead-Slide: 3 online guitar lesson by Robbie Calvo from SoloCraft
I created the melody for this song idea by singing a part rather than thinking of scales, etc. I analyzed the melody afterwards and found out that I was playing notes from the D melodic minor scale. I have provided a scale diagram for you showing you the D melodic minor scale if you'd like to approach it this way. I have also written out for you the linear approach to my musical example showing you the melody part on the 3rd string and the harmony part a 6th above on the 1st string. You will notice that you can see our classic sixths laid out before you, except this time they are following my melody not a scale.
