In this solo, I am striving to replicate the qualities of an open tuning while also doing my best to make each note sound as clear and individual as possible, as was exemplified in Duane's playing all of the time. Strict attention is paid to the pick and fret hand muting techniques to maximize the clarity of each individual note; that said, I occasionally lay the slide across the D, G and B strings at the seventh fret to sound the notes of a D triad, though use of any multiple strings ringing together is sparse.
