Watch the Mick Taylor Style: Open G online guitar lesson by Andy Aledort from Slide Guitar Power

Although the approach is simple, Mick states each chord in the progression clearly thoughout the example - there is power and authority in his austere lines, not to mention his signature slow, wide Robert Nighthawk-like vibrato. When in the open G tuning, the major triad of each chord is sounded by laying the slide across the top three strings, and Mick uses this position as his home base while adding beautifully melodic fills, all based on the G blues scale (G Bb C Db D F) between the vocal phrases.
