Watch the Slide Scales in Open G online guitar lesson by Andy Aledort from Slide Guitar Power

Our open G tuning slide scale patterns are the same as those of open A, so we can play all of the open strings along with all of the notes located at the third and fifth frets of each string. On the way up (ascending), it is useful to skip over the G string when playing minor pentatonic patterns. In 12th position, you can move between the 12th and 10th fret, including the ninth fret of the D string, which in open G tuning will sound a major third, the B note.
