Watch the Lesson 21 online guitar lesson by Brad Carlton from Rhythmic Grooves
We continue in our quest for killer grooves! This series of lessons applies many of the principles we've previously covered and introduces what you have learned over the course of the last two series and will also introduce concepts for playing rhythm and lead over swing or shuffle eighth note grooves. You'll also learn how to approach comping from a percussion standpoint as well as thinking as a keyboardist. You'll work with five jam tracks, each with two lesson bank's worth of lesson material. Various approaches will be demonstrated with an explanation of the theory, techniques and style you can apply when coming up with an appropriate rhythm/lead part.
Lesson one demonstrates analysis of the bass line, groove, and other parts in the track which collectively present a framework over which you may choose different options.
