Watch the Gospel Groove online guitar lesson by Shane Theriot from Rhythm Mojo
This example is not really a worked out lick or exercise, but rather a real improvised guitar part over a fixed chord progression. If you learned the triad shapes in the Triad Concept, you shouldn't have a problem with the descending 3rds lick. Also, note that the "Melodic Doo Dads" idea is at work here, and we have some ideas that repeat over the relative minor. The fixed bar shape is also very important here. One tip - get the voicings together first and then work on some of the licks. The major pentatonic scale is very useful here as well. The trickiest part of this progression is the turnaround where we have the triad over bass note chords. Pay attention to how I maneuver through these changes, since you will have to change over each chord.
