Watch the Maroon Tunes online guitar lesson by Robbie Calvo from The Rhythm Architect
This rock guitar part combines a simple single note run and some nice power chord accents all in the key of E minor. You can either play the first chord as a power chord or as a full E minor triad or 7th. I really like the G/B to C5/2 chord move a lot, especially rolling from the B to the C twice.
What's happening here is that you are implying a Cmajor9 chord albeit the 3rd is not present. Check out the rhythmic figures I'm playing on the G and D chords. The pattern I played felt right to me but as always feel free to experiment with the rhythms yourself.
