Watch the Funkadelic online guitar lesson by Robbie Calvo from The Rhythm Architect
Playing a single note line sounded good to me when jamming over our previous two guitar parts so I created a funky line that outlines the chords. Using the Wah Wah pedal to make the notes more expressive also helped to separate the frequencies so that all of the guitar parts could be heard in the mix.
Be very conscious of the fact that simply changing your guitar sound can make or break the music your playing over. As far as I'm concerned it's all part of being a musician and listening to the context and value of your input with every situation you may find yourself in. Be sensitive to this and you will be rewarded.
